Xiufeng Lake

Xiufeng Lake, located on the south side of Changyi Avenue in Qiunan, is embraced by verdant peaks cradling a beautiful expanse of water. Nestled quietly within the bustling city, the lake and surrounding hills are imbued with an even greater sense of poetic charm.

Covering a total area of about 600 acres, Xiufeng Lake Park has a water surface of over 310 acres. The scenic spots are laid out in an orderly fashion, perfectly integrating the shimmering waters with the surrounding landscape. A jade-like belt bridge divides the lake into northern and southern halves; a lakeside corridor connects the eastern and western shores; and several man-made islands house recreational areas with different functions.

To showcase the charm of the bamboo region and highlight the character of the Bamboo City, the people of Yiyang have created eight bamboo-themed attractions along the picturesque Xiufeng Lake. Among them, the HuiLong Bridge, YiQing Pavilion, and TianZhu Tower—three masterpieces of bamboo artistry—are hailed as the “Three Wonders of the Bamboo City and the Three Marvels of China.”

HuiLong Bridge: Utilizing lakeside corridors and an arched bridge, two bamboo dragon corridors, each 64 meters long and made of nanmu bamboo, meet nose-to-nose at the winding bridge in the lake, forming a scene of “two dragons playing with a pearl” in the water.

YiQing Pavilion: Moored on the northern lake. The pavilion’s roof is a 12-meter-diameter Yiyang bamboo oil-paper umbrella. Opened under the sunlight and above the blue water, the umbrella shelters a music teahouse that can accommodate dozens of visitors.

TianZhu Tower: Comprising one tall and two shorter towers connected as one. The tall tower has seven stories and stands 19.8 meters high. From the rooftop to the base, from the tiles to the walls, the entire structure is riveted together using nanmu bamboo, without a single nail or piece of iron.
