Strong Typhoon Lekima.

Due to the influence of the outer circulation of the typhoon, southwestern winds are blowing in. On the 9th, southern Taiwan should be wary of sudden strong winds, and from the evening of the 9th to the 10th, central and southern Taiwan should be on alert for heavy rain throughout the day. Although Hualien and Taitung have moved out of the storm's radius, high temperatures are still a concern.

Although the impact of Typhoon Lekima on Taiwan has weakened, the land warning is expected to be downgraded only by the evening of the 8th. Wind and rain will still come in waves, so try to minimize outdoor activities. If you must go out, stay cautious, especially avoiding activities at the seaside or in mountainous areas.

Train services by Taiwan Railways, THSR, and flights at airports may be subject to changes. Be sure to confirm the latest updates from official sources before departure.

Medium Typhoon Krosha.

The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain special report on the 9th:

Local torrential or extremely heavy rain is likely in mountainous areas of Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, and Taichung City.

Local heavy rain or torrential rain is expected in mountainous areas of Taoyuan City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Nantou County, Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and Yilan County.

While Lekima heads toward Shanghai, another point of concern is medium Typhoon Krosha moving toward Japan. Due to its slow movement, the typhoon’s intensity may further increase. Travelers planning to visit Japan next week should pay close attention to the developments of Typhoon Krosha.

A summary of the weather forecast for the weekend and the coming week is as follows:

From the daytime of the 10th to the 11th, southwestern winds will be relatively strong. Central and southern regions may experience brief showers or thunderstorms, with a likelihood of localized heavy rain, especially in mountainous areas where torrential rain is possible. Other areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny.

On Sunday the 11th, there may be brief localized thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of northern and northeastern Taiwan in the afternoon.

From the 12th to the 16th, under the influence of southwestern winds, central and southern regions may see brief showers or thunderstorms, with a chance of localized heavy rain. Southeastern areas may have brief localized showers, while other regions will be mostly cloudy, with brief localized thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.
