Caught Pikachu at a convenience store? 108 7-ELEVENs become Pokémon GO supply stations and gyms

By MOOK Scenic Spots Home, compiled and reported

Seeing the continued popularity of Pokémon GO, 7-ELEVEN has launched a four-month collaborative support campaign with Pokémon GO starting July 26.

The mobile game Pokémon GO has been out for three years and still ranks sixth on the iOS strategy games chart — the craze is far from over.

This campaign is the first of its kind in Taiwan’s retail channels and is officially authorized by Pokémon GO. A total of 108 7-ELEVEN stores in Taipei’s Zhongzheng and Songshan districts have been transformed into Pokémon gyms and supply stations. Throughout this four-month collaborative event, trainers in Taiwan will be able to pick up special missions, stock up on items, or join legendary Pokémon raids at these 108 7-ELEVEN supply stations and gyms.

Pokémon GO was born from Niantic’s mission of “encouraging exploration on foot,” motivating people to get outdoors. This partnership with 7-ELEVEN will create new opportunities for exploration, fitness, and real-world social interaction.
