Hu Linxi Exhibition Hall

The Hu Linxi Exhibition Hall was established in 2009 and is located in the Yiyang Tea Market in the city center. With a total investment of over 11 million yuan, it covers an exhibition area of 1,300 square meters. The museum currently houses a collection of more than 2,600 cultural relics, over 4,300 volumes of documents and historical materials, more than 460 precious images, and over 2,000 cultural relics classified as Grade III or above. It presents the life and achievements of Hu Linxi in eleven sections, making it the only specialized museum in China dedicated to showcasing his life story. Since its opening, the hall has received over 560,000 visitors from all walks of life, co-produced seven documentary films, hosted 46 academic exchanges, delivered over 30 public lectures, and collaborated with colleges and universities on three extracurricular research projects. It serves as an off-campus teaching base for multiple institutions.

The Hu Linxi Exhibition Hall has been officially included in the National Museum Directory, becoming the first privately-run museum in Yiyang to be listed. Hu Linxi was a native of Quanjiaohe Town, Heshan District. He passed the imperial examination during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, rose to the position of Governor of Hubei and Vice Minister of War, and was posthumously awarded the title of Junior Guardian of the Heir Apparent, ranking as a first-class official. He is an outstanding representative of Hunan culture, a key leader of the Xiang Army, and one of the Four Great Statesmen of the Late Qing Revival.
