Xikuangshan Exhibition Hall

The Xikuangshan Exhibition Hall is a cultural heritage site of Lengshuijiang, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The Xikuangshan Exhibition Hall is located within the North Smelter of Xikuangshan Flash Star Antimony Co., Ltd. in Lengshuijiang City, Loudi.

Originally built in 1948 as the office of the former Xikuangshan Engineering Department, the building became the site where the underground CPC Xikuangshan General Branch Committee was established and began operations in early 1949. Here, the committee recruited its first member and led the dramatic and complex struggle to protect the mines and welcome liberation. In 2006, Xikuangshan Flash Star Antimony Co., Ltd. invested in constructing the “Xikuangshan Exhibition Hall” to showcase the century-long history of Xikuangshan in Lengshuijiang. The name of the hall was inscribed by Mao Zhiyong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. The “Xikuangshan Exhibition Hall” is divided into three major sections. Among them, the “History of Revolutionary Struggle” vividly presents the battle-hardened years and significant contributions of Xikuangshan during both the old and new democratic revolutions, featuring strong regional characteristics and rich, valuable historical materials. Covering an area of 800 square meters, the hall took two years to complete and is the first and largest corporate exhibition hall in Hunan Province, integrating red tourism with industrial heritage tourism.

In May 2010, the Xikuangshan Exhibition Hall was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit by the Lengshuijiang Municipal People’s Government; in March 2011, it was recognized as a Hunan Provincial Patriotic Education Base by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee.
