Embrace the Autumn of Yangmingshan: A Leisurely Stroll Along the Qiuyang Ancient Trail

To allow the public to admire the beautiful sight of silvergrass swaying across the land and to appreciate the historical and cultural heritage of ancient trails, in recent years, Yangmingshan National Park has launched its autumn highlight interpretive hiking event — the “Ancient Trail & Autumn Silvergrass Journey.” This event is about to make its grand debut. The activity will take place along the historically significant Yulu Ancient Trail (also known as the Jinbaoli Road), an important passage used by ancestors during the late Qing and early Republican periods to travel between Jinshan and Shilin. The hike begins at the Shanghuangxi Parking Lot beside the Yangjin Highway, following the Yulu Ancient Trail through a trek to Qingtiangang and Lengshuiping. Interpretive volunteers will explain the human history and relics along the Yulu Ancient Trail, while participants enjoy the ecological scenery lined with silvergrass, ferns, and slender bamboo poles. In addition to experiencing the hard lives of the ancestors, visitors will also enhance their commitment to environmental protection through closer contact with nature.
