Mosque

Located on the western section of Qianzheng Street in Jiangkou Town. From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republican era, Muslim families surnamed Ding, Ba, Ma, Jiao, Liang, and Wu from Nanyang, Henan, migrated to Jiangkou Town due to natural disasters and settled there, where they built this mosque. The original structure was a traditional post-and-lintel style dwelling, enclosed with fences made of fir branches. In 1955, it was damaged by heavy rain, and the county government allocated funds for repairs. The mosque once housed a complete set of ancient Arabic-language Qurans, which were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Over time, the buildings fell into disrepair. On September 20, 1980, with support from relevant departments and fundraising by local Muslims, the mosque was rebuilt. Its exterior was redesigned in Islamic architectural style, making it the only county-level Hui Muslim religious site in Yichang City. On October 19, after being reported by Hubei Daily, Muslims from Jingzhou, Shashi, Yidu, and other areas began regularly attending religious services at the mosque.
