On April 20, 2012, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, held a series of tourism promotion events titled “Lushan – Love of the World · Jiujiang – A Poetic Painting Journey” at the Beijing Capital Hotel. During the event, it was announced that construction of the “first national textbook landscape demonstration base” would commence in Jiujiang.
Since the beginning of this year, the Jiujiang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have placed the development of a strong tourism economy high on their agenda. They issued the “Opinions on Promoting the Vigorous Development of Tourism and Building a Strong Tourism City,” outlining 20 measures to accelerate the growth of the tourism industry. Jiujiang also initiated a new round of revisions to the “Jiujiang Tourism Development Master Plan,” increased rewards for tourism promotion and standardization efforts, vigorously advanced the establishment of a national tourism standardization pilot county in Xingzi County, and redesigned tourism routes. A series of promotional marketing activities were carried out, including a “Month of Concentrated Rectification” targeting prominent issues affecting the tourism development environment across the city. These efforts have fostered a strong atmosphere for tourism industry development throughout Jiujiang.
At the Beijing promotion event, the Jiujiang Municipal Bureau of Tourism signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Golden Bridge Advertising Co., Ltd. for the promotion of Jiujiang’s tourism image on CCTV, entrusting the company to package and promote Jiujiang’s overall tourism image. To effectively disseminate the tourism image through outdoor media in Beijing, the Jiujiang Bureau of Tourism also signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing Xumei Media Advertising Co., Ltd. to display large LED tourism promotional advertisements at the exit of Beijing West Railway Station. To strengthen promotional and marketing collaboration with travel agencies in Beijing, the Jiujiang Bureau of Tourism signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China National Travel Service Head Office. To achieve brand synergy, the Jiujiang Bureau of Tourism and Lvtu Travel Network integrated their resources and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This year, Jiujiang will use Lvtu Network as a high-end platform for releasing tourism information and news, developing the “Lvtu Travel Network - Jiujiang” destination channel into an online hub for promoting Jiujiang tourism to visitors. Together with Lvtu Network, events such as the “Travel with Textbooks · Poetic Jiujiang” backpackers’ exploration tour and the “In Search of the Peach Blossom Spring – My Time-Travel Dream” tourism dream action campaign will be organized.
To help students gain a more vivid and intuitive understanding of their textbooks and provide a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment, this promotion event officially announced the launch of the “Textbook Landscape Demonstration Base.” It will showcase the tourism landscapes depicted in primary and secondary school textbooks and offer related services such as teaching practice and training. The construction of the “Textbook Landscape Demonstration Base” has received strong support from the National Tourism Administration, the National Tourism Attractions Association, the Jiangxi Provincial Tourism Administration, and the Jiangxi Provincial Tourism Association. To complement the construction of the base, Jiujiang has also produced a promotional brochure titled “Wen Hua Jiujiang” (Cultural and Artistic Jiujiang), which presents the city’s rich cultural tourism resources from various perspectives—including Jiujiang in textbooks, Jiujiang in legends, and Jiujiang in literary masterpieces—through elegant text descriptions and beautiful landscape illustrations.
The event was attended by over 150 participants, including specially invited guests such as representatives from the National Tourism Administration, the China Tourism Association, China Tourism News, China National Travel Service Head Office, Lvtu Travel Network, Xumei Media, and China Golden Bridge; heads of over 30 travel agencies in Beijing; journalists from more than 50 news media outlets such as CCTV, People’s Daily, and Travel Satellite TV; Ms. Liao Qizhi, Vice Mayor of Jiujiang Municipal People’s Government; leaders in charge of tourism and tourism bureau chiefs from various counties (cities, districts) in Jiujiang; representatives from some travel agencies; and members of Jiujiang’s news media. The entire conference was broadcast live online nationwide and featured real-time Weibo interaction.
