Wuyun Cliff Carvings

The Wuyun Cliff Carvings are a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

The Wuyun Cliff Carvings are located in Zhangfan Village, Hongshan Town, Yingshan County. Carved during the Ming Dynasty, they are situated on the cliffs at the eastern foot of Wuyun Mountain. The carvings measure 1 meter in height and 0.8 meters in width. In sunken relief running script, the inscription titled “Record of Wuyun Mountain Temple” consists of 11 lines and 148 characters, documenting the history and surrounding environment of Wuyun Mountain Temple. These carvings play an important role in studying the spread of Buddhism in the region. (Fifth Batch)
