Guojiawan Site in Yingshan

The Guojiawan Site in Yingshan is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Guojiawan Site is located in Maoji’ao Village, Shitouzui Town, Yingshan County, about 1,000 meters southeast of Maoji’ao Village (a natural village). The site currently covers an area of approximately 9,000 square meters. It was discovered during a cultural relics survey in 1984. The cultural layer at the southeastern section is about 1.6 meters thick, containing accumulations from the Neolithic Age and the Western Zhou Dynasty. Artifacts from the Neolithic Age are primarily sandy red pottery, followed by sandy gray pottery, with small amounts of clayey gray and red pottery; decorations include basket patterns, appliqué bands, and checkered patterns. Artifacts from the Western Zhou Dynasty mainly consist of sandy red and brown pottery, followed by sandy gray pottery, with small amounts of clayey gray and red pottery; decorations include cord patterns, intermittent cord patterns, and appliqué with impressed cord patterns.
