The Daqian Stone Garden is a folk-style garden located at the foot of Huangjing Mountain, adjacent to the Xisai Mountain Scenic Area. Resembling a Suzhou-style garden, it is a uniquely styled rock garden that centers around stone culture, embodies Buddhist culture, and follows the layout of traditional folk garden design.

The garden features many attractions, such as a wide array of uniquely shaped rocks and stones, naturally formed as if by divine craftsmanship—some resembling dragons or phoenixes, symbolizing prosperity; others resembling tigers or lions, filling the garden with a hundred beasts. There are also formations like “The Roc Spreading Its Wings,” “The Panda Worshiping Buddha,” “Five Cows Playing in Water,” “The Stone Monkey Gazing at the Moon,” “The Winding Path and Cave,” and “The Twelve Zodiac Stones.” Additionally, the garden is home to rare flowers and plants, ancient trees clinging to rocks, century-old crape myrtles, red-fruited holly, and rustic camphor trees. With birds chirping and fragrant blooms all around, it offers a refreshing and delightful experience.

Especially noteworthy is the Peace Pagoda within the garden, which enshrines a “Maitreya Stone Buddha” from the Sui and Tang dynasties, brought back from Zhongbao Island in the Three Gorges. It is believed to safeguard peace in the region. There is also a cliffside stone carving of “Amitabha Buddha,” offering salvation to all beings; a stone sculpture of the “Reclining Buddha on a Lotus Throne,” embodying great compassion; as well as attractions like the “Guanyin Cave,” “Saving the Wayward,” “The Reappearance of Buddha’s Light,” and “Karma Leads to Goodness.” In short, the Daqian Stone Garden is a hidden gem and a place of Buddhist significance—definitely worth a visit!
