Guangu Ravine Site

The Guangu Ravine Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The site is located on the eastern bank of the Sishui River terrace in the western part of Shangjie District, Zhengzhou City. To its south is National Highway 310, to the west lie the Shangjie–Dayugou railway and factories, and to the north is a tributary gully of the Sishui River. The current surface is cultivated land, sloping from high in the north to low in the south. On the southern cliff of the site, ash pits have been discovered with gray-brown soil containing relics such as pottery shards, fired earth, plant ash, and stones. A small number of pottery shards were collected from the surface, made of both clay and sandy clay, with colors including gray and red pottery. The decorative patterns include cord marks, basket weave, checkered patterns, and plain surfaces, while vessel shapes include jars, basins, cups, bowls, etc.
