An'yu Mosque

An'yu Mosque is a cultural tourism attraction.

An'yu Mosque was first built in 1801 and underwent a five-year reconstruction from 1932 to 1936, turning it into a grand and magnificent mosque covering ten acres. The main prayer hall, spanning 360 square meters with five bays and three sections, stands atop an 11-tiered white marble stairway and was once praised as the “Foremost Mosque South of Beijing.” In 1986, following the implementation of the Party’s ethnic and religious policies, the mosque was renovated once again, further enhancing its majestic presence.

The main prayer hall features a classic Chinese temple-style architecture, with high, upturned eaves adorned with animal heads and small stone lions on each corner. The underside of the eaves is decorated with colorful paintings in green, blue, and white, giving it an antique charm. The green glazed tiles of the roof contrast beautifully with the white walls and purple doors and windows, creating a serene and elegant atmosphere that embodies a unique ethnic style and artistic character, making it a renowned mosque in the southern region of Beijing.
