China Water Resources Website News: According to inflow conditions, Hebei Province has decided to activate the Yongding River flood area at 6 a.m. on August 2.
The Yongding River Flood Storage Area is one of 98 national flood storage and detention zones. It is situated in the middle and lower reaches of the Yongding River, covering parts of Guangyang District, Anci District, and Yongqing County in Langfang City, Hebei Province, as well as Daxing District in Beijing and Wuqing District and Beichen District in Tianjin. With a flood storage capacity of about 400 million cubic meters, it is a key component of the Yongding River flood control system.
The Ministry of Water Resources had previously issued a notice requiring the Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources and the Tianjin Water Authority to urge local authorities to prepare in advance for personnel relocation, dike and levee inspections, and other flood diversion area measures.
Before implementation, all personnel in the Yongding River flood zone had been evacuated.Source | China Water Resources Website
