Discovery and APAX Group announce the official launch of the world’s first Discovery Explore Extreme Base

    A branch of Discovery Communications Inc.—the Discovery International Brand Licensing body—today announced an official partnership with APAX Group (China Adventure), and held the groundbreaking and project launch ceremony for the world’s first Discovery Adventures Andaman Moganshan Park Explore Extreme Base (hereinafter referred to as: the Explore Extreme Base) and resort hotel. As the introducer of the Explore Extreme Base, APAX Group has joined forces with Discovery and Temple Hotel Group to create this project. Leveraging their expertise in their respective fields, the three parties have collaborated to build an outdoor exploration base that integrates extreme sports, tourism, and vacation, offering global visitors world-class outdoor survival training and adventure experiences.

 

Groundbreaking Ceremony of the World’s First Explore Extreme Base

    The Explore Extreme Base is located in the Antamatan Resort in Moganshan, Deqing County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, within a healthy, low-carbon area of approximately 1 million square meters rich in natural resources and surrounded by mountains and water. The future Explore Extreme Base will offer globally first-certified courses and be guided by an international team of professional coaches. The Explore Extreme Base will officially open in the fourth quarter of this year, initially launching its extreme challenge training programs for groups. In spring 2016, the platform will expand to welcome the general public. The Explore Extreme Base features multi-level wilderness survival training challenge courses, delivering a full range of land, sea, and air experiences, including China’s largest climbing wall, jungle flying fox (zip line), all-terrain ATV, mountain biking, forest traversal (hiking trails), and obstacle challenges. The Antamatan Resort offers VIPs a comprehensive five-star experience. To allow all guests to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors without leaving their rooms, hotel rooms are exclusively equipped with TVs that feature Discovery Channel content.
