China Shanghai, July 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A subsidiary of Discovery Communications, Inc. -- Discovery International Brand Licensing today announced an official partnership with APAX Group (China Adventure), and held the groundbreaking and launch ceremony for the world’s first Discovery Adventures Andaman Moganshan Park Expeditions Base (hereinafter referred to as: the Expeditions Base) and resort hotel, located within the Moganshan Antman Resort under Yiting Hotels Group. Created by APAX Group in collaboration with Discovery and Yiting Hotels Group, the three parties have leveraged their expertise to build an outdoor exploration base integrating extreme sports, tourism, and vacation, offering global travelers world-class outdoor survival training and adventure experiences.

The Expeditions Base is situated in the Antman Resort in Moganshan, Deqing County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, covering an area of approximately 1 million square meters — a unique healthy and low-carbon region rich in natural resources and surrounded by mountains and water. The future expeditions base will offer globally pioneering certified courses and be guided by an international team of professional instructors. The Expeditions Base will officially open in the fourth quarter of this year, initially providing group-based extreme challenge training programs. In spring 2016, the platform will expand to welcome the general public. The Expeditions Base features multi-level wilderness survival training challenge courses, delivering a comprehensive land, sea, and air experience, including China’s largest climbing wall, jungle flying (zip lines), all-terrain ATVs, mountain biking, forest trekking (hiking trails), and obstacle challenges. The Antman Resort offers guests a full five-star experience. To allow all guests to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors without leaving their rooms, hotel rooms are exclusively equipped with TVs featuring Discovery Channel content.
