Music, dancing, and camping—all for the thrill. Passion, health, delicious food, and joy were all on offer as the 3rd Dazong Lake Outdoor Camping Music Festival delivered two days of musical and culinary revelry in Yancheng, Jiangsu from September 16–17.

The first-ever “hip-hop music-themed camping music festival” grandly opened and achieved great success at the Dazong Lake Scenic Area in Yancheng, Jiangsu. This event was hosted by the Dazong Lake Tourism Resort in Yancheng, with the RV camping segment organized and executed by Nanjing Haimoni Culture Development Co., Ltd., and supported by Traveling Times Network. Now in its third consecutive year, the Dazong Lake Outdoor Camping Music Festival aims to showcase the area’s outstanding tourism resources and unique cultural appeal through fresh, popular formats and leisure activities—inviting more domestic and international visitors to explore Dazong Lake and further establish its distinctive travel brand.

During the event, radio DJs (renowned local musicians) from eight cities in Jiangsu—Nantong, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Yancheng, Lianyungang, Huai’an, Suqian, and Xuzhou—joined their loyal fans to rock out together at the hip-hop music festival. The DJ concert featured a team PK format, with the winning city selected through city DJ performances, fan interactions, and live audience voting via WeChat. Both the winning DJ and their fan group received attractive prizes.

Popular contestant Li Daben from *The Rap of China* also delivered an electrifying and spectacular musical performance, engaging with the audience in unique ways that pushed the Dazong Lake Hip-Hop Music Festival to new heights and ignited the enthusiasm of thousands.

In addition, over a hundred RV enthusiasts from the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region participated in the outdoor camping festival, with more than thirty RVs pitched at the Dazong Lake Green Hill Campsite. These RV lovers used their camping setups to introduce visitors to this emerging leisure destination, sharing their passion for nature and love of life through their unique recreational lifestyle.

The sunset at the Green Hill Campsite in Dazong Lake during autumn is truly not to be missed. As gentle lake breezes rise and cool air brushes against your hair, the silhouette of RVs against the setting sun creates a breathtaking view of Dazong Lake at dusk.

Using music as a bridge to boost Dazong Lake’s tourism development. While the 2017 hit variety show *The Rap of China* has concluded, its impact on the tourism and commercial markets may just be beginning. The show demonstrated that even niche, segmented markets can possess tremendous mass-market commercial potential. Although segmented tourism remains in its early stages compared to the broader tourism market, with ongoing market evolution and rising consumer expectations, niche tourism is steadily gaining momentum and showing a clear upward trend—a fact beyond dispute.

Themed around bold and unconventional hip-hop music, complemented by immersive outdoor and RV camping experiences close to nature, the Dazong Lake Hip-Hop Camping Music Festival has forged a pathway from traditional sightseeing tourism toward “cultural IP”-based tourism. It has driven tourism growth in Dazong Lake and its surrounding areas, becoming a vibrant highlight in the tourism landscape.
