Taihang Boyuzhuang is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Taihang Boyuzhuang is located 3 kilometers southwest of Bo’ai County in Henan Province. It is a comprehensive tourist attraction characterized by bamboo forest scenery and bamboo culture, integrating leisure, vacation, science education, and entertainment. The park was first established in 2001, covering an area of 1,222 mu, including over 700 mu of bamboo groves. It cultivates nearly 90 varieties of bamboo, such as mottled bamboo, cloud bamboo, and monk’s head bamboo, making it the bamboo species resource center with the most diverse collection north of the Yellow River in China, the largest bamboo gene bank in the north, and a domestication base for introducing southern bamboo species to the north. Among them, the yellow-groove mottled bamboo and the mutual-loving bamboo (flower-facing bamboo) are unique species in the county, boasting high ornamental value. This area was also one of the main activity zones of the “Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove” during the Wei and Jin dynasties.

The park features a beautiful environment, fresh air, and a sea of lush, evergreen bamboo forests that make visitors feel as if they are in the south of the Yangtze River. Over 500 towering trees form umbrella-like canopies along the riverbanks and roadsides, creating a stunning landscape in the park. Among them, the “Central Plains’ No. 1 Poplar,” with a trunk diameter of 1.2 meters, requires three adults holding hands to encircle it. A spring-fed river, over 1,000 meters long, runs from northeast to southwest through the entire park, with more than 10 springs along the way continuously gushing clear water. The East and West Bays, covering over 60 mu, are adorned with weeping willows along the embankments and shimmering blue waves. Various flowers in the park, such as plum blossoms, apricot blossoms, crape myrtle, silk tree, and wintersweet, bloom competitively, creating a vibrant scene. Meandering paths wind through the bamboo groves, where swaying bamboo leaves offer a serene and enchanting atmosphere.
