Zibo Lushen Temple

Zibo Lushen Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

On a high ground on the west bank of Xiaofu River in Sangyuan Village, Boshan District, it was once a branch campus of Gongyuan Road Primary School. ?? The courtyard is square, measuring 10 meters in both length and width. The main gate, one bay wide and facing east, is a connected-style structure. Inside the gate, there were two rooms on the north side and a south-turning second gate, which has now been demolished. Upon entering is the main courtyard, with the three-bay western main hall featuring a front eaves projection, covered with glazed tiles and adorned with five ridges and six mythical beasts; the painted beams and golden decorations inside the hall can still be faintly discerned. The north and south halls each have three bays and are brick-and-tile structures. The eastern palace hall has three bays, with ruyi-shaped supports under the front eaves and inverted hanging connected-style construction at the rear eaves. The upper parts of the front and rear walls are all wooden structures ??, while the lower parts are built with stone foundations, standing about 2 meters high. The front wall has now been replaced with a brick wall. The overall architecture within the temple remains well-preserved. The stone steles inside the temple are entirely covered with lime, making it impossible to verify the construction date. According to the "Zibo Glass Chronicles," the temple was built on October 16 of the 39th year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty by local leaders Sun Yanshou, Xu Yingyuan, and Li Shili, who established the Lushen Temple (rubbing of the Lushen Temple construction inscription).
