Boshan Shimen Scenic Area

The Shimen Scenic Area is situated in the northwest of Boshan District, and is characterized mainly by "majestic and uniquely shaped mountains, and abundant, picturesque waters." Its mountains feature precipitous cliffs rising abruptly, with villages and houses built along the slopes in a scattered, well-arranged manner. The scenic area mainly consists of seven attractions: Shimen, Zhenmenyu Reservoir, the "Qilu Alliance Site," Jiagutai Eighteen Bends, the "Little Huangshan," Longwan, Yukou Reservoir, and Xi’e Laodong. The Shimen Scenic Area is known for its numerous striking mountains and beautiful waters, which are its main features. Its unique geographical location and prominent geological characteristics have given rise to a wealth of scenic spots and long, fascinating historical legends. Numerous attractions such as Longmen Tianchi (Heavenly Lake), Little Huangshan, Eighteen Bends, Jiagutai, Laodong Cave, Sanjie Stele, and Mengliang Fortress attract a large number of tourists for sightseeing and leisure.
