Yaojiayu Ecological Tourism Resort is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Yaojiayu Ecological Tourism Resort is a key project identified by Boshan District in accordance with the requirements for building a new socialist countryside — “developing production, ensuring prosperous living, fostering cultural rural customs, maintaining clean village appearance, and promoting democratic management.” It is an important component of the overall “One City, Two Districts, Three Areas” master plan and a significant step toward establishing a leisure and residential hub in central Shandong.

It has been included in the 2009 government work report of Boshan District and represents a major new highlight in ecological and leisure tourism for Boshan District, Zibo City, and even the central Shandong region. The resort is located to the southwest of Boshan, stretching from the western bypass of Boshan in the east to Yuwang Mountain in Lingxi in the west, reaching Chiziqian Scenic Area’s Chizi Village in the south, and bordering the northern valley of Yaojiayu in the north. It covers an area of approximately 21 square kilometers, with about 330 hectares designated for construction and development, and around 700,000 square meters of built-up area. The development is planned to span roughly 10 years. Based on Yaojiayu’s exceptional environmental resources, Shandong Hualv has crafted a plan that fully considers regional tourism compatibility and sustainable development. The plan integrates ecological, economic, socio-cultural, and aesthetic values, aligning with the site's current conditions and land use patterns. Adhering to planning principles that respect nature, protect ecology, prioritize people, and follow scientific development, it breaks away from conventional tourism models. The goal is to establish a complete tourism industry chain, encompassing sightseeing, hospitality and dining, folk art, eco-agriculture, wellness and retirement, as well as new rural construction. A spatial development strategy of “dual-core interaction, four-wheel drive, and ring-shaped expansion” is adopted, with an overall layout comprising six functional zones: Lining Lake Wellness & Vacation Valley, Chiqian Folk Tourism Town, Chizi Eco-Leisure Tourism Experience Park, Magongci Tourism Support Service Area, Lingxi Art & Culture Village, and Yaojiayu Taoyuan Town — a wellness and retirement-themed community.
