Ruyue Lake Wetland Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Ruyue Lake Forest Wetland Park, located within the Shitanwu Nature Reserve, covers a planned area of 270 hectares with a total investment of 360 million yuan. Leveraging its forest resource advantages and highlighting the characteristics of a wetland park, it integrates ecological sightseeing, cultural industries, and leisure vacation. The plan includes eight functional areas: camping zone, resort living zone, ski resort, golf driving range, agricultural sightseeing zone, and more. The first phase of investment totaling 40 million yuan has been completed, and attractions such as the “Song of the Forest” themed sculpture square, Ruyue Lake water system project, Hard Struggle Memorial Hall, and resort reception service area have been built successively. It represents the culmination of over 50 years of afforestation efforts by the Yuan Mountain community and is the first wetland park in Zibo City, as well as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Highlights: Ruyue Lake boasts pleasant scenery all year round. In late spring, birds fly and grass grows, with a riot of blooming flowers—especially the vibrant peach blossoms and forsythia that captivate visitors. Clusters of tender reds and bright yellows offer a refreshing and lively experience whether viewed from afar or up close. In the hot summer, sea of clouds drift halfway up the mountain, creating ever-changing vistas. Amidst the shaded greenery, listen to birds chirping and cicadas humming. Stroll along the lake shore where a gentle breeze brings cool relief from the clear waters—a serene resort ideal for vacation and recuperation. In autumn, the season of harvest, gaze at the clear blue skies and jade-green waters, breathe the fresh air, admire the mountains ablaze with red foliage, forests dyed in layers of color, and the fragrance of wild fruits in the air. Wandering through the landscape, you’ll be immersed in poetic beauty. When winter arrives, withered plants and exposed rocks present a stark yet simple scene. After snowfall, the mountains and woods are blanketed in white, the lake surface crystal-clear and pristine, offering enchanting snowy views. The green-tiled and earthen-walled buildings scattered throughout only add to the delightful scenery, making it hard to leave.

Tour Routes: The park is divided into eight functional areas: entrance & exit zone, sightseeing & amusement zone, camping zone, reception & service zone, resort living zone, ski zone, agricultural sightseeing zone, and agritainment zone. In 2012, national treasures Giant Pandas “Shuang’er” and “Zhenda” made their first-ever historic relocation to Zibo, taking up residence in Ruyue Lake Wetland Park. Residents of Zibo can now admire these adorable pandas without leaving the city.

Guide Fees: Guided tour services are available at various smaller attractions. Fees are 100 yuan for groups under 5 people, and 200 yuan for groups of 5 or more.

Visitor Service Center: Located on the south side of the east gate of Ruyue Lake Wetland Park, the Visitor Service Center is a comprehensive service facility integrating guide services, promotion, inquiries & complaints, and leisure shopping.

Self-driving Directions:

Exit at Boshan Toll Station on the Jiqing Expressway — drive 11.2 km along Provincial Highway 236 to arrive (approximately 25 minutes).
