Youyou Valley is situated on the sunny side of the main peak of Mount Lu and at the end of the Ten-Li Peach Blossom Stream. The village features rolling green hills, dense forests, and the aroma of blooming flowers and ripening fruits. With a forest coverage rate exceeding 96%, the average day and night temperatures in summer stay below 26 degrees Celsius. In 2003, based on extensive research and analysis, and guided by the city’s tourism bureau, the village committee focused on developing agritainment projects centered around leisure vacations and wellness. They successively developed tourist attractions such as a vegetable farming garden, an osmanthus flower viewing garden, real-life CS battles, rafting, and leisure wellness camping. In 2003, the per capita income of the village was around 2,000 yuan; by the end of 2012, it had risen to 24,800 yuan. The village now has 58 agritainment establishments that can serve 1,000 diners simultaneously. Since 2003, the number of visitors accommodated by the village's agritainment businesses increased from just over 1,000 per year to 100,000 in 2012, with annual total revenue growing from 300,000 yuan to 14 million yuan. The number of agritainment venues expanded from 5 initially to the current 58, and from April to November every year, every household is fully booked every weekend. To boost the visibility of agritainment in Zhonghaoyu Village, Youyou Valley Tourism Development Company utilized various promotional methods such as the internet, television, organizing citywide CS competitions, and matchmaking events. The company also hired 20 salespeople annually to be stationed long-term in key target markets including Dongying, Binzhou, Jinan, and Weifang, collaborating actively with multiple outdoor adventure companies for promotion, achieving excellent results. To address the lack of evening entertainment options for tourists, Zhonghaoyu Village plans to build facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, and elderly care home. On top of standardizing and upgrading existing agritainment services, the village aims to offer more diverse and enriching agritainment experiences.
