The Qiaolingqian Scenic Area is located amidst the green mountains and clear waters, six kilometers southwest of Boshan District in Zibo City, Shandong Province. The entire scenic area centers around Qiaolingqian Village, covering an area within a five-kilometer radius. The landscape features majestic peaks, steep cliffs, scattered thatched cottages, small bridges over flowing streams, and quaint villages—exuding the charm of a mountain wilderness. With its unique characteristics of peculiar mountains, crystal-clear waters, serene forests, and beautiful scenery, it ranks as the foremost among the eight major scenic areas in Boshan District. The area boasts a beautiful natural environment, fresh and invigorating air, and pristine springs and streams—completely free from pollution—offering visitors a sense of returning to nature. It is a rare natural park in the province for leisure, entertainment, summer retreat, and cooling off. The entire Qiaolingqian Scenic Area includes attractions such as the Boshan Cave, Wangmu Pool, Tianxing Lake, the Qi Great Wall ruins, Linli Lake, and the highest highway overpass in Shandong Province. Among these, the Boshan Cave, Wangmu Pool, and Tianxing Lake are especially praised by visitors. By the end of 1985, it was listed by the Shandong Provincial Government as one of the province’s five major scenic areas. It is a national key scenic spot and a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Boshan Cave is located on the top of Zhaiyv Mountain, east of Qiaolingqian Village. It was partially developed and opened to the public in May 1985 by Qiaolingqian Village. Initial surveys indicated that the main cave stretches approximately 5,000 meters in total length. After several years of phased development, around 1,600 meters of the main cave have been developed and opened to visitors, with around 4,000 meters still awaiting exploration. The main cave is surrounded by numerous branching tunnels, creating a complex network of chambers within chambers, twisting and turning with an extraordinarily unique structure—rarely seen in northern regions. It holds significant value for further development and research. The cave generally spans about ten meters in width, with the widest section reaching over twenty meters, and the narrowest part only allowing passage for a single person to squeeze through sideways. The height of the cave averages around three meters, with the highest point reaching over fifty meters and the lowest requiring visitors to crawl. It is hailed as an underground art palace crafted by nature’s miraculous hand. The entire cave system is a rare large-scale limestone cave system in North China. Inside, it is filled with stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone flowers, and other formations that interlock intricately, appearing delicate, bizarre, colorful, and ever-changing—an awe-inspiring underground art palace. It is acclaimed as the “Number One Cave Heaven of the North.”
