Badu Kiln Site

The Badu Kiln Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Badu Kiln Site is located in Badu Village, Badu Town, Boshan District, Zibo City. It dates back to the Song Dynasty. On December 7, 2006, the Badu Kiln Site was designated as part of the third batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the Shandong Provincial People's Government.

The site was first built during the late Qing and early Republican period, originally known as Dongyao Hutong, with three round kilns, also called Yuxiang Kiln. Its main product was the "vinegar bottle" used for packaging the nationally renowned Wangcun Vinegar, along with daily-use ceramic wares. The site covers an area of over 2,000 square meters.

In the autumn of 2005, Behekou Village carried out old village redevelopment and converted the area into a residential community.

Badu Town: Located 15 kilometers southeast of Boshan District, Zibo City, Badu Town is a key industrial town on the outskirts of Boshan and an important transportation hub. It is one of Shandong Province’s top 100 towns, ranking 16th in comprehensive economic strength across the city in 2005. The town administers 17 administrative villages and 22 neighborhood committees, covering a total area of 36.94 square kilometers with a population of 41,000. It has been awarded honors such as National Export Base Town, Shandong Provincial Civilized Town, Shandong Provincial Advanced Town in Safety Creation, Municipal Economic Powerhouse Town, Municipal Star Town for Township Enterprise Development, and Municipal “Five-Good” Township Party Committee.
