Former Residence of Sun Tingquan

The former residence of Sun Tingquan is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong.

The former residence of Sun Tingquan is located in Chengdong Subdistrict, Boshan District, Zibo City. It dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 2013, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the Shandong Provincial People's Government.

Boshan Street is one of the oldest streets in Boshan District, Zibo City, originally part of the ancient Yanshen Town. The street is not wide and is now used as a marketplace, bustling with vendors and filled with the constant sounds of commerce. Halfway along Boshan Street, the former residence of Sun Tingquan stands prominently right in the middle of the road.

Sun Tingquan served as Minister of War, Revenue, and Personnel during the Qing Dynasty, and was appointed Grand Secretary of the Neige Secretariat by Emperor Kangxi. The people of Boshan respectfully referred to him as Elder Sun, and some local residents even revered him as a deity. When reporters recently visited, the road was icy and difficult to navigate, and incense offerings could still be seen inside the residence, which had not yet been fully restored.
