The Juma River Scenic Area is located in Xiazhuang Village, Sanpo Town, Laishui, and is a winding river. The water is crystal clear and flows continuously. Lush mountains line the banks, creating a tranquil environment. As you travel along the river, you’ll come across a series of attractions in succession, such as “Sand Python Blocking the Way,” “Stone Gate Suddenly Opens,” “Stone Monkey Playing in the Water,” “Cliffside Plank Walk,” and “Sky Bridge Arching.” “Sand Python Blocking the Way” is a standalone sand dune that rises 500 meters long and over 30 meters high, with a slope angle of 34 degrees on both sides. It’s a “mini Gobi” in the deep mountain valley and is hailed as a “wind-sand wonder” in northern China. “Stone Gate Suddenly Opens” is a collapsed cliff face that resembles a grand gate, offering a spectacular sight. “Stone Monkey Playing in the Water” features rocks standing in the turbulent waters of the Juma River, with some exposed above the surface resembling a monkey’s head. From a distance, it looks like a monkey playing in the water, adding a delightful touch. The area boasts a variety of uniquely shaped peaks, beautiful waters, picturesque pastoral scenery, and captivating legends, all combining to form a poetic and picturesque scenic corridor. When summer arrives, hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to the banks of the Juma River. During the day, they swim, boat, sand-slide, race horses, and hike. At night, bonfires are lit, fireworks and firecrackers set off, song and dance parties held, and barbecued game enjoyed. The shores of the Juma River become a summer retreat and a sea of joy for travelers.
