Wagu Tea is a specialty of Wagu Village in Liuku Town, Lushui County, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The natural environment of Wagu Village is pristine, free from any domestic or industrial pollution, making it a true producer of green, pollution-free eco-tea. Wagu green tea is known for its fresh green color, long-lasting brew with sweet taste, and fragrant, mellow flavor. It is an excellent choice for gifting to friends and family or serving to guests at home.

Located at the foot of Biluo Snow Mountain, Wagu Village in Lushui County enjoys moist air and fertile soil, making it highly suitable for growing Yunnan large-leaf variety green tea. The tea culture of Wagu has a long history, and the local people have long maintained the traditions of planting, processing, and enjoying tea. Historically, Wagu Tea was once widely renowned, earning the trust of consumers and even being praised as the "Dragon Well Tea of Yunnan." In 1967, Wagu Tea was even sent to Zhongnanhai in Beijing.

In 2006, Lushui County, led by the supply and marketing cooperative and with the agricultural materials company as the leading enterprise, adopted a “company + farmers + base” business model to establish the Wagu Tea Professional Cooperative. With the support of the county’s agricultural materials company, the villagers of Wagu Village gradually shifted away from traditional farming practices and vigorously developed tea tree cultivation. Now, over 280 households in Wagu Village each have their own tea gardens, contributing to more than 5,000 acres of lush tea plantations that serve as a “green bank” for the community. The village produces around 150 tons of fresh tea leaves annually, generating an average income of over 300 yuan per person.

Today, Wagu Tea has expanded beyond Nujiang and entered major supermarkets across the province, competing with Pu'er Tea and Fengqing Tea, earning widespread praise from consumers. In just six short years since 2006, the company and its leaders have received numerous honors from national and provincial authorities. Notably, in November last year, the company’s “Xueli Brand” green tea was selected as the only product from Yunnan to be among the top 50 standardized agricultural product brands of the national supply and marketing cooperatives in a national evaluation.
