Jinan International Horticultural Exposition Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Jinan International Garden and Flower Exposition Park (abbreviated as Jinan Expo Park) was the venue for the 7th China (Jinan) International Garden and Flower Exposition. Construction of Jinan Expo Park began on October 19, 2008, and it was completed and opened to the public on September 22, 2009. The park is situated in the University Science and Technology Park of Changqing District, Jinan City, about 25 kilometers from downtown Jinan. It boasts beautiful surroundings with a blend of mountains and water, and is connected to the historic and cultural ancient city area of Changqing. It neighbors the Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Agricultural High-Tech Development Zone, and the Wufeng Mountain Tourist Resort. Major roads passing through include National Highway 104, National Highway 220, and the Jihe Expressway, ensuring convenient transportation and a superior environment. Covering an area of 5,176 mu, the park includes 1,440 mu of water surface and 3,736 mu of land. It mainly consists of various scenic areas such as the public exhibition area, central lake area, domestic garden exhibition area, international future gardens exhibition area, specialized garden exhibition area, leisure and entertainment area, and indoor exhibition area. The exposition gathers 108 exhibition gardens from domestic and international cities and institutions, offering a dazzling and magnificent display. Themed structures such as the Water Gate, Flower Expo Avenue, Harmony Square, Main Exhibition Hall, and Science and Technology Exhibition Hall are grand and distinctive in their own ways. Jinan Expo Park is a large-scale comprehensive international exposition park integrating garden landscapes, eco-tourism, plant science education, cultural exhibitions, leisure vacations, and water recreation. It is set to become another iconic tourist attraction in Shandong Province following the “one mountain, one water, one sage.”

On June 10, 2011, the Shanghai World Expo Shandong Pavilion was reconstructed within Jinan Expo Park, adding a new attraction to the site. The reconstruction is located northeast of the Main Exhibition Hall, near the International Exhibition Area of the Expo Park. The reconstruction project of the Shandong Pavilion had an investment of 240 million yuan, with a total area of about 30,000 square meters and a building area of about 5,000 square meters, including four functional zones: the main exhibition hall, circular exhibition hall, demonstration hall, and auxiliary area. The reconstructed Shandong Pavilion will appear in the form of a “digital expo exhibition hall,” replicating the original at full scale, while also establishing an external pavilion that integrates elements of the Shandong Pavilion and the World Expo.

Transportation

1. Bus: Take bus K301 to Changqing Daxue Road Station; take bus K302 or bus 20 to the Traditional Chinese Medicine University or Light Industry College of Changqing Science and Technology Park.

2. Shuttle Bus: Take a shuttle bus from downtown Jinan Railway Station or the Long-Distance Bus Terminal, and get off at the Traditional Chinese Medicine University or Light Industry College of Changqing Science and Technology Park.

3. Self-driving: Head west along Jiwei Road (National Highway 104) – turn west at Gushan Intersection (Chaomidian) for 2,500 meters – arrive at the main gate of Expo Park; head west along Jingshi West Road (National Highway 220) – turn east at the Daxue Road intersection in Changqing section – arrive at the intersection of Ziwei Road and Daxue Road – main gate of Expo Park; exit at Gushan on the expressway – head west for 2,500 meters after getting off – main gate of Expo Park
