Xubao Jujubes are a geographical indication agricultural product, a local specialty of Beichen District, Tianjin, typically harvested around October to November.

Xubao Village primarily focuses on jujube cultivation as its leading industry, with 1,500 mu of land dedicated to jujube orchards, and an average per capita net income of 17,867 yuan for farmers. In 2003, the village established a jujube planting cooperative. While preserving traditional jujube varieties, it has successively introduced over ten types including Golden Silk Jujube, Zanhuang Jujube, Pear Jujube, and Winter Jujube, and through independent research and development, has cultivated early-ripening new varieties such as Ginseng Jujube and Lingzhi Jujube, which can hit the market more than a month earlier. To better develop the "one village, one product" initiative, the village relies on the cooperative and adheres to the principles of "managed by the people, run by the people, benefiting the people," providing pre-production, mid-production, and post-production services centered around jujube production. The cooperative has sorting workshops, storage cold storage, and laboratories; it has 128 members who form various specialized groups, benefiting over 500 farming households. Each household maintains a production management record, adhering to standardized, pollution-free production and unified management of the jujube trees, while also keeping full production records, supervised throughout by designated personnel. To expand sales channels, the cooperative actively analyzes the market, targeting major supermarkets as its main focus, promoting and marketing the jujubes.

In 2006, Xubao Village registered the “Xubao” brand trademark and obtained geographical indication product protection as well as pollution-free product origin certification. To maintain and enhance the product’s brand reputation, in addition to signing technology service agreements with research institutes and agricultural technology departments, Xubao Village also regularly invites experts from universities, research institutions, and technicians from the crop production development service center to provide training and field guidance to villagers. Technical key points are compiled into CDs and exhibition boards so that members can easily see and learn.

Through unremitting efforts, the jujubes from Xubao Village are not only in high demand in the Tianjin market but have also entered several major supermarkets in Beijing, becoming best-selling products.
