Tianjin Nanhu Scenic Area

Tianjin Nanhu Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Nanhu Scenic Area is located in Xiazhuang Subdistrict, Wuqing District, featuring lush greenery and sparkling waters. The Nanhu Park is planned to include five functional zones: the Urban Story Exhibition Area, the Water Street Leisure & Commercial Area, the Family Leisure & Sports Entertainment Area, the Wetland Ecological Experience Area, and the High-end Business & Leisure Area.

The Urban Story Exhibition Area will feature a waterfront grand stage and an Urban Story logo sculpture plaza, with plans including over 6,000 square meters of iconic landscapes such as a light and water show stage and a water screen movie. The Wetland Ecological Experience Area consists of three lake-centered islands connected by boardwalks, reminiscent of Hangzhou’s West Lake. The lake will also have further lotus plantings, while the main central island will serve as a bird habitat, accessible only by boat. Three themed museum restaurants will be set up along the lakeside paddle-style docks on the wooden walkways, one of which has already been designated as a dock-themed restaurant. The Family Entertainment & Sports Area integrates family activities into a green, natural environment, providing both locals and tourists with outdoor spaces and a rich variety of activities through events such as outdoor sports, gardening, and lectures.

The entire scenic area spans 3,590 mu, including over 2,640 mu of water surface and more than 900 mu of green space. Nanhu Park mainly features water-resistant native tree species such as weeping willows, Chinese scholar trees, and poplar trees as the foundational greening vegetation. Additionally, other varieties have been added according to seasonal characteristics—including mountain peach, peach blossom, wintersweet, crabapple, hawthorn, ginkgo, plane trees, ash trees, and smoketree—encompassing both spring-flowering trees and autumn foliage trees to ensure colorful seasonal views around the lake. The park not only offers a walking path but also a dedicated cycling path paved with colored asphalt. Future plans include sightseeing options such as electric carts and mini trains to tour the 5-kilometer lakeside scenic loop.

Leveraging its unique transportation, location, ecological advantages, and lake view resources, the Nanhu area will be developed into a new integrated town combining industry and residential living, becoming a beautiful landmark between Beijing and Tianjin.
