Phoenix Ridge Ecotourism Area

The Phoenix Ridge Ecotourism Area is nestled in the scenic southern mountainous region of Jinan, within Wuzhuang Township, Changqing District. It lies to the north along Wu Yao Highway, which connects through Ga’er and Zhonggong to the city center, and to the west links Wuzhuang Township to National Highway 104. Located 30 kilometers from downtown Jinan, it offers convenient access and neighbors the renowned Mount Tai in China. From this spot, one can look south to the towering summit of Mount Tai and north to the sacred landscape of Lingyan. It is currently the largest and best-preserved purely ecological tourism area remaining in Jinan.

Centered around themes of nature, ecology, and environmental protection, and guided by the principles of health, leisure, and harmony, the Phoenix Ridge Ecotourism Area adheres to international ecological standards. It has preserved the original natural landscape in its entirety and has carried out sustainable development initiatives such as dam construction, water storage, and afforestation. Within the area, waterfalls cascade from great heights, streams babble gently, clear springs gush forth, and pools shine azure blue. The sounds of insects and birds abound, while colorful butterflies flutter about, set against a backdrop of verdant pines and maples, and fields blanketed with blooming wildflowers. Visitors can admire unique rocks and famous springs, or ascend to the Moon-Viewing Pavilion to take in the sea of pine waves and the majestic presence of Mount Tai. The Phoenix Ridge Ecotourism Area consists of three parts: the Phoenix Ridge Scenic Area, the Longxi Ridge Scenic Area, and the Shimenyu Scenic Area. It boasts numerous attractions, including Phoenix Ridge, Azure Dragon Pool, Little Dragon Bay, Ancient People’s Cave, Daughter-in-Law Bay, Fairy Pool, Boat Paddle Head, and Tear Spring, all surrounded by many beautiful and moving legends. The scenery here is enchantingly beautiful, with rugged peaks, rare pines, and famed springs. It is home to Jinan’s highest peak, Motian Ridge, as well as other natural wonders such as Red Stone Cliff, Hundred Birds Forest, Coiled Dragon Cave, Divine Turtle Pool, Overlord Rock, Phoenix Rock, Longevity Star Rock, Recumbent Elephant Rock, and Kissing Spring. The area enjoys a mild climate and dense forests, making it a natural oxygen bar. The mountain springs are sweet, cool, and rich in essential minerals. A wide variety of wild vegetables and Chinese herbal medicines grow here, and the main fruit trees include persimmons, chestnuts, and walnuts. The tourism area features leisure activity centers of various styles for visitors to choose from. Phoenix Mountain Villa is a high-end service area integrating guest rooms, conference facilities, and dining, with comprehensive amenities.

Additionally, there is the culturally distinctive Phoenix Mountain Village.
