Clear and Cool Spring

Clear and Cool Spring, located on the east side of the Jade Emperor Hall in Dongzhen Temple at Wufeng Mountain, gets its name from the clear spring water striking the rocks and producing a melodious, tinkling sound.

The water flows out from the mouth of a stone-carved dragon head on the cliff wall and drops into a square stone pool with sides measuring 0.8 meters. Then, one stream flows westward through an overflow outlet, passes under a stone bridge, and enters the “Jade Maiden Basin”; another stream reaches the pool under the stone bridge in front of the Jade Emperor Hall. Around Clear and Cool Spring, there are also many historic springs such as the Azure Dragon Spring and the White Tiger Spring, forming distinctive spring landscapes.
