Wenchang Mountain Park

Wenchang Mountain is situated at the boundary between the main urban area and the university district of Changqing District, south of Daxue Road and east of Fenghuang Road. With its peak reaching an altitude of 156 meters and spanning an area of 1,275 mu, the mountain is also known as Taizi Mountain. On the western mountainside, a cliff is home to Wenchang Cave, which houses a stele inscription from the 32nd year of the Wanli reign in the Ming Dynasty titled “Record of the Renovation of Wenchang Cave,” and enshrines the Deity of Literature. The park was designed based on the principles of “nature, ecology, and wild charm,” aiming to preserve and enhance the existing natural ecological landscape, highlight the historical culture of Changqing, and create a healthy and natural recreational environment.

Hiking trails were built along the natural contours of the mountain to meet the fitness and leisure needs of nearby residents. Recreational nodes such as Kuiven Pavilion, Wenchang Pavilion, Wangshan Platform, Wenchang Square, and Dieshi Wenzong were created to reflect the historical and cultural essence of Changqing. Water, soil, and plants have been introduced to the mountain to restore the ecological environment and develop a natural, wild landscape. It has now evolved into a mountain park that is ecologically rich, culturally profound, health-promoting, scenic, and multifunctional.
