Zhangying Site

The Zhangying Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Zhangying Site is located in Xiaoli Town, Changqing District, Jinan City, dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

The Zhangying Site is a high terrace measuring 360 meters in length from north to south and 300 meters in width from east to west. It was destroyed during the land reclamation project in 1977. Artifacts excavated here include bronze jue cups, stone axes, stone knives, and pottery shards from the Shang Dynasty. Research confirms that this is a Shang and Zhou period site.

On June 23, 2015, the Zhangying Site was designated as part of the fifth batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Xiaoli Subdistrict: "Xiaoli Town is located 20.8 kilometers southwest of Changqing District. Originally named 'Shuili Pu' (Water Village) due to its low-lying and waterlogged terrain, it was renamed Xiaoli (Filial Piety Village) during the early Eastern Han Dynasty after the construction of Guo Ju’s tomb on Wushan Mountain (now Xiaotang Mountain) to the south of the village, inspired by the filial story of Guo Ju burying his son. During the Qing Dynasty, it was known as Xiaoli Pu. The town covers an area of 124.60 square kilometers, governs 7 sub-district offices, 57 administrative villages, and has a population of 53,200, with 4,658 hectares of arable land. In 2002, the birth rate was 8.9‰, and the natural population growth rate was -0.01‰."
