The Qingshan Lake Scenic Area is a newly developed garden created after the liberation, especially since the reform and opening-up in 1979, through comprehensive management of Qingshan Lake. It is located in the northeast corner of the urban area, adjacent to the Gan River, and includes three parks: Lakeside Park, Acacia Forest Park, and Yanming Island Park. The total area is 400 hectares, with a water surface of 326 hectares. The lake is 1.5 kilometers wide and 5 kilometers long. In 1985, comprehensive construction began according to the overall plan for the management of Qingshan Lake.

The development of the Qingshan Lake Scenic Area is divided into two main parts: the southwest section mainly features amusement spots, including an amusement park, acrobatic arena, swimming pool, rowing area, and the Jiangxi Children’s Activity Center. Existing recreational activities include Sky Tornado, Double Flying, Wacky Rafting, Aerial Swings, Overhead Bicycle Rides, as well as boat rides and motorboats. The western lakeside is lined with lush trees, the central island is dotted with flowers and plants, speedboats dart across the water, birds soar above, and fish swim beneath — making it a modern recreational venue that integrates games, sports, gardens, and aquaculture. The northeast section includes: the Qingshan Garden with comprehensive garden architecture; the Fishing Fun Garden for fish watching and angling; the Bonsai Garden showcasing floral arrangements; the Bird Watching Garden for observing migratory birds; and the Celebrity Garden displaying historical stories and cultural artifacts of notable figures from Jiangxi Province throughout history.

In the southwest corner, there is an existing Workers’ Sanatorium, which boasts an elegant environment and lush flowers and trees. Nearby, there is the Chunlai Teahouse, and a 10-meter-tall sculpture of a flock of wild geese has been erected, representing the scenic highlight known as “Wild Geese Crying over Autumn Waters” in Qingshan Lake.

In the southeast corner, the Jiangxi Water Sports School has become a training center for water sports such as water skiing, rowing, and sailboarding in Jiangxi. Thirteen international-standard racing lanes have been set up on the lake, and numerous national-level kayaking competitions have been held here.

The Qingshan Lake Scenic Area combines the ancient, elegant, unique, and serene, integrating multiple functions within one park, and is currently under active development.
