The "First Wanda Changbai Mountain International Trail Running Challenge" will be held on June 29, 2013, at the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort. Organized by the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort Management Company, the race features two distances: 50 kilometers and 30 kilometers. As the entire trail run will be contained within the resort, this event becomes the first large-scale international trail running competition held within a mountain resort in China. Numerous well-known domestic and international athletes, along with over 300 trail runners from across the country, will gather here, sure to ignite a wave of competitive enthusiasm.
The course design of this race is quite distinctive. Runners will start from the resort’s lawn, pass through lush pine and birch forests, cross serene blue lakes, ascend undulating peaks over a thousand meters high, and experience the endless exotic charm of the resort town before reaching the finish line, where they can gaze at the clearly visible peak of Changbai Mountain not far away. Here, the snow-covered trails of winter transform into flowery, grassy forest paths in summer; the thrill and speed of skiing in winter give way to leisurely strolls amidst green mountains and clear waters in summer. Each season offers its own wonders to admire, explore, and enjoy. The combination of resort life and sports leisure is truly captivating.
