The four-day second station of "2013 Pathfinder: Extreme Spirit Places"—Baima Snow Mountain Station Qualifying Round saw intense and exciting competition. After four days of thrilling contests, Lu Yuquan from Lenovo Group in Hefei, Anhui, and Wang Xia from Beijing, stood out with outstanding physical ability and a courageous spirit. They successfully completed all the challenge events including the bicycle obstacle course, island survival, ancient village treasure hunt, and the final leap. They rightfully earned their spots as volunteers for the second station of the Extreme Spirit Journey. They will join Pathfinder mentor Sheng Liangzhong—a globally renowned scientist and co-founder of the famous NGO "Earthwatch Institute"—to venture into the Extreme Spirit Place, Baima Snow Mountain. There, they will conduct field research to protect Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys, seek biomimicry inspiration, explore ecological mysteries, and pave the way for biodiversity conservation and the pursuit of the brave spirit that stays true to its mission.

The "Finding the Pathfinder Around Us" campaign has been held for its third edition since 2011. This year’s theme, "Have the Courage to Live," focuses on finding everyday people who have bravely lived for their ideals. This edition differs significantly from the previous two in terms of format, participant selection, and scale. In addition to emphasizing physical ability and outdoor experience, this year’s selection of volunteers places greater importance on those with courageous hearts. The aim is to inspire more people to achieve their life goals through the contestants’ past experiences and their unwavering pursuit of dreams.
