Recently, the *Cycling Guide Map – Around Qiandao Lake* was published and released by Hunan Map Publishing House. This map is one of the Zhejiang Province Outdoor Sports Series maps, compiled by the First Surveying and Mapping Institute of Zhejiang Province. Printed in large-format four-page double-sided layout, it highlights seven cycling routes suitable for riding around Qiandao Lake, including three “Health & Leisure Routes” – the Qianfen Line round-trip, the City Lake Loop, and the Northeast Lake Loop; three “Featured Sports Routes” – the Central & Southwest Lake Loop, the Northeast & Northwest Lake Loop, and the Langhuang Line; as well as one “Mountain Sports Route” – the Longchuan Bay Circuit.
Each route includes detailed descriptions of its overview and features, along with attractions, farm stays, service points, and more along the way. Through carefully drawn elevation profiles, the slope and difficulty level of each route are also clearly presented. In addition, the map lists essential items for cycling, precautions, and tips for handling emergencies, providing professional information and friendly reminders for cyclists.
In recent years, cycling – a low-carbon and eco-friendly sport – has been gaining increasing popularity. With its unique natural ecological advantages and convenient transportation, Qiandao Lake has gradually become a top destination for cycling. Since 2011, the number of cycling tourists visiting Qiandao Lake has exceeded 10,000. To create an international-caliber cycling environment, Qiandao Lake has been improving supporting facilities such as cycling camps, information centers, reception centers, and service points, while introducing and establishing high-level professional cycling clubs. At the same time, a series of cycling events and competitions have been held, such as the Qiandao Lake Cycling Rally, the Environmental Cycling Tour Around Qiandao Lake, the Qiandao Lake Source Exploration Cycling Trip, the International Road Cycling Race Around Qiandao Lake, and the Qiandao Lake Mountain Bike Festival, turning cycling activities into a unique brand of Qiandao Lake.
