Nanchang Ocean Park is a large modern marine park covering an area of 40 acres. With a total underwater tunnel length of 74 meters, it houses over 800 species and more than 10,000 marine creatures. It is one of China’s largest marine aquariums and is known as the Nanchang Marine Zoo or Nanchang Oceanarium. The marine park was invested in, designed, and built by Hangzhou Underwater World Science Popularization Co., Ltd. It has a construction area of 12,000 square meters, a total water volume of over 5,000 tons, an underwater tunnel length of 74 meters, over 800 species, and more than 10,000 individual marine creatures (tails), making it one of China’s largest marine aquariums.

1. Project Introduction

Nanchang Ocean Park is a large modern marine park invested in, designed, and built by Hangzhou Underwater World Science Popularization Co., Ltd. The first phase project, the Marine Aquarium, had a total investment of 100 million RMB, covers an area of 40 acres, has a construction area of 12,000 square meters, a total water volume of over 5,000 tons, an underwater tunnel length of 74 meters, over 800 species, and more than 10,000 individual marine creatures (tails), making it one of China’s largest marine aquariums.

2. Exhibition Venues

(1) Freshwater Biology Hall

Displays nearly 100 species of tropical freshwater ornamental fish: fierce silver pomfrets, precious Chinese sturgeons, giant walruses… The mysterious Amazon rainforest scenery brings endless imagination.

(2) Marine Mammal & Dolphin Performance Theater

Lively and adorable sea lions and dolphins, the “performers,” put on thrilling acts such as ball juggling and skateboarding that are sure to make you laugh.

(3) Coral Reef Biology Hall

Hundreds of colorful and uniquely shaped coral reef fish — such as the domineering triggerfish, the lazy suckerfish, and the boxy boxfish — swim among vibrant coral reefs, offering a mesmerizing tropical coral sea view that captivates and enchants visitors.

(4) Underwater Tunnel Hall

Step into the dim underwater passageway and come face-to-face with nearly a hundred species of deep-sea super monsters like sharks and rays from Bermuda, creating a breathtaking experience.

(5) Marine Theater

Features large-scale performance events such as human-turtle and human-shark dances, as well as the feeding frenzy of thousands of fish.

(6) Marine Folk Culture Hall

Includes interactive activities such as “Beach Shell Collecting,” “DIY Fishing Net Weaving,” “Multimedia Science Zone,” and “Fish Play Pool.”

(7) Marine Restaurant

Offers a variety of quick and delicious Chinese and Western meals for both adults and children, which you’re sure to enjoy.
