Qingshan Lake Cultural Square

Qingshan Lake Cultural Square, located in the Nanchang East Industrial Tourism Development Zone, covers a total area of 68,000 square meters with a total investment of 120 million yuan. It mainly consists of the Happy World Ferris Tower, Symphony Fountain, Multi-functional Exhibition Building, and Eleven Cities' Cultural and Folk Custom Scenic Areas, making it a comprehensive square that integrates exhibition, entertainment, leisure, tourism, and more. The construction of the square commenced in August 2002 and was successfully completed on September 28 of the same year. The First Jiangxi Provincial Flower and Horticulture Expo was grandly inaugurated here.

The square features four sets of modern musical fountains, consisting of the largest dry fountain in the province and three pool fountains. The fountains dance to the rhythm of music, and during peak musical moments, they can form a water curtain with a diameter of up to 50 meters and water jets as high as 68 meters. This is the dry fountain platform, which spans 800 square meters and serves a dual purpose as both a fountain and a stage.

The square also houses a multi-functional exhibition building, covering a land area of 13,000 square meters with a built-up area of 18,000 square meters. The indoor exhibition halls are spread over two levels, while the outdoor sloped rooftop functions as a stepped grandstand with 4,000 seats, complementing the dry fountain stage opposite. It is an ideal venue for hosting various expos and large-scale cultural performances.

The Folk Custom Scenic Area brings together famous mountains, rivers, pavilions, lakes, and distinctive residences from all eleven cities across the province. Strolling through this unique scenic zone, visitors can admire the province’s renowned tourist attractions and experience the diverse cultural traditions of Jiangxi—all within a single day.

Qingshan Lake Cultural Square is a masterpiece created by our district in its efforts to build a modern civilized garden city. It showcases the district’s commitment to shaping the city’s image and establishing the Nanchang brand. The square has played a significant role in enhancing the taste and image of our new urban district, expanding our influence, and enriching the cultural life of local residents.

From September 28 to October 13, 2002, the “First Jiangxi Provincial Flower and Horticulture Expo” was successfully held here, attracting over 400,000 visitors and marking the beginning of the splendid legacy of Qingshan Lake Cultural Square.

From September 30 to October 7, 2003, the “2003 China (Nanchang) Cross-Strait Orchid Expo” was hosted here. The expo featured nearly 20 participating regions from both domestic and international locations, including Malaysia, Japan, and Taiwan, with 40 exhibitor groups presenting over 20,000 orchid plants in total. The event drew nearly 300,000 visitors.
