Introduction:

The former residence of Governor Yang's Mansion is located in Qifangshan Village, Huangzhou Town, Anyi County, Jiangxi Province. It was built in the ninth year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty by Yang Zhenggao, who served as the Governor-General of Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. Yang Zhenggao, also known as Zhangfu, was born in the year of Bingshen during the Daoguang reign (1833) and died in the year of Renshen during the Tongzhi reign (1870). He held the official rank of second class. This residence is an ancient east-facing-west structure, consisting of a single layer with three courtyards — that is, a building with three bays in width and ten bays in depth. It includes two interior courtyards and is built with a brick-and-wood structure, featuring a flush gable roof. The main entrance has six steps, beneath which there is one mounting stone on each side, forming a single step-like shape. The mounting stones are carved with floral vase patterns. The gate is shaped like the character “八” (eight), and on each side of the gate there is a marble drum. Upon entering the gate and passing through the front courtyard (which has been destroyed), you reach the main house. Entering the main house’s gate leads to the front corridor, which contains three doors, with the central one being the middle gate.

Yang Zhenggao, also known as Zhangfu, was born in the year of Bingshen during the Daoguang reign (1833) and died in the year of Renshen during the Tongzhi reign (1870)
