The Rui-Li area in Meishan Township, Chiayi, boasts some of the most stunning wisteria scenery in Taiwan. Now, the wisterias are gradually reaching their peak, with cascading purple blooms hanging from above everywhere you look—especially at the Green Tunnel, where the wisterias are now in full bloom. The Chiayi Cultural and Tourism Bureau has also recommended 16 local spots to admire these lovely flowers. Visitors can follow County Road 166 to enjoy this uniquely beautiful sight that differs from cherry blossoms.

The Chiayi County Government noted that the Rui-Li wisteria season typically runs from mid-March to mid-April each year, lasting about a month. During the season, wisterias can be spotted in campuses, restaurants, and along sidewalks. Paired with bamboo forests and walking trails, they create one of the most unique purple landscapes in Chiayi’s mountain forests.
