The High Heel Chapel is situated in Budai Seaside Park, Chiayi County. Standing approximately 17 meters tall and 11 meters wide, it holds the Guinness World Record as “the largest shoe-shaped building.” Its structure consists of 1,269 steel frames, with its exterior made up of 320 glass panels, presenting a shimmering aqua-blue hue. Visitors can enter the interior, and the surrounding area also features several unique installations.

Budai Tourist Fish Market is the town’s main hub for fishery catches. Whether farmed fish, caught shrimp, or imported seafood, you’ll find it all here. Beyond common seafood, Budai is especially famous for its oysters. Unlike typical shallow-shed farming, Budai’s oysters are primarily cultivated in deeper waters. This not only keeps them free from water pollution but also allows them to feed on more plankton, resulting in healthier and larger oysters.

Taisheng Temple is located within Haomeili and was originally a place where fishermen prayed for safety before heading out to sea. The temple enshrines Mazu, the guardian deity of fishermen. The Mazu statue here is unique—certified by the Ministry of Education as dating back to the late Ming-Cheng period, it has a history of over 300 years and significant cultural value. As such, Taisheng Temple is not only revered by local devotees but also attracts worshippers from around the world who come to see this precious historical site.
