Located in western Chiayi, Taibao is near downtown Chiayi. The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is located within its area, and it has a high-speed rail station, offering very convenient transportation. As a typical agricultural town, it has in recent years hosted the Taibao Flower Sea Festival, reputed to be Taiwan’s version of Provence, with a lively and grand atmosphere. The Taibao Flower Sea Festival in Chiayi is hailed as Taiwan’s version of Provence and Hokkaido’s colorful flower fields. It grandly opens every year before the Lunar New Year. The site features numerous adorable installation artworks paired with vibrant, colorful floral carpets, attracting large crowds of flower-viewing tourists.

In addition to displaying precious national cultural relics, the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum features a 3-kilometer lakeside boardwalk that winds around the main building. It offers different perspectives to admire the Eastern architectural style of the museum, while also allowing visitors to enjoy the serene reflection of the blue sky and white clouds on the lake.

Tianmu is a public art piece created by an artist inspired by the Tropic of Cancer passing through Chiayi, featuring sacred trees and plains as motifs. It utilizes relevant natural elements and structural forms to connect the Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station and Ji Ji Ren Park, adding a lively atmosphere to the areas near the high-speed rail.

The Wang Family Ancestral Temple is located in Taibao Li, Taibao City. It enshrines Wang De-lu, who served as the Admiral of the Navy during the Qing Dynasty and held the title of Taizi Taibao, the highest-ranking official position ever held by a Taiwanese at the time. Aside from its magnificent and elaborate structure, the temple also displays many garments, swords, and other items once worn or used by Wang De-lu, making it a site of significant historical value.
