Luotian Village

Luotian Village: With a history of 1,200 years. The entire village is surnamed Huang, said to be descendants of Emperor Zhu Rong.

Luotian Village is located at the foot of Meiling on Xishan Mountain, 2 kilometers northeast of Shibi Town, Anyi County, Jiangxi Province, and has a village history of 1,120 years. It is a typical clan-based village, with an unbroken lineage all surnamed Huang. It is said to be descended from Emperor Zhu Rong. To escape war during the Guangming era of the late Tang Dynasty, Huang Kechang from Qizhou, Hubei, relocated here. The ancient village of Luotian was once a key stopover on the route from Anyi to Nanchang, bustling with merchants and thriving in its prime, home to nearly 200 shops and lively with activity. It is also one of the birthplaces of Gan merchants' culture.

Luotian Village

Descended from Emperor Zhu Rong, the Huang family fled war during the Guangming era of the late Tang Dynasty and migrated here from Qizhou, Hubei. A local folk rhyme says: “Tiny Anyi County, but the mighty Huangs of Luotian.” This speaks to the great reputation of the Huang family of Luotian. The village was once a necessary stop for pilgrims traveling to the Wanshou Palace on Xishan Mountain to worship the Deity Xu Xun. Shops stood shoulder to shoulder, and merchants gathered in great numbers, marking a heyday of prosperity. The ancient streets, bluestone paths, and visible cart ruts of the village remain intact, and the entire settlement still preserves a fully functional underground drainage system. The traditional residences, brick carvings, stone engravings, and wooden carvings are simple yet exquisitely crafted. The village is also known as a "longevity village." The Tang-era Huang camphor tree thrives vibrantly, and the sweet spring water of the “Shoukang” square well is refreshing. Strolling through the ancient village, one can't help but feel a deep sense of historical nostalgia.
