Wuyuan Folk Culture Street

Located on Wenbo Road in the southern part of Wuyuan County, Wuyuan Folk Culture Street is the only tourist commercial street in Wuyuan. Stretching 600 meters, it integrates entertainment, shopping, dining, leisure, and amusement, making it one of the must-visit attractions for travelers to Wuyuan.

The entire street features traditional Huizhou-style architecture: dark tiles, white walls, horse-head gables, pavilions, and towers, all arranged in an orderly fashion and rich in local character. The largest Nuo mask sculpture in China, a symbol of Wuyuan, stands tall in the eastern plaza of the street; an archway and a large waterwheel are erected at the western end. The highlight of the street is undoubtedly its grand folk performances, where more than ten performance troupes and hundreds of actors bring dozens of shows to life throughout the area. The Wuyuan Ancient Folk Museum, known as the foremost of its kind in Jiangxi Province, houses over 5,000 cultural relics, comprehensively showcasing the history and culture of Wuyuan. A 52-meter-long art gallery combines painting and calligraphy exhibitions, creation, sales, and training, serving as an ideal platform for the display and exchange of Wuyuan’s art scene. The Jingdezhen Artistic Porcelain Boutique Exhibition Hall, teahouses, jewelry shops, and other venues—each combining artistic taste with cultural significance—have also settled along the street. The area is lined with shops: a Chinese cuisine street, a local specialties street, a handicrafts street, a traditional folk costume street, an entertainment and leisure street, and an antiques street.
