Wuyuan, China, Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — As the misty rains of the Golden Week drew to a close, the seven-day “grand tourism” achievements in Wuyuan served as the best reward for all those who worked tirelessly in the tourism sector during this holiday.
Statistics released by the Wuyuan County Tourism Development Committee Office on the 8th showed that from October 1 to 7, the county received 571,200 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 10.72%; ticket revenue reached 25.1189 million yuan, up 10.23% year-on-year; and total tourism income hit 318.1486 million yuan, an 8.23% increase. On October 4 alone, the county welcomed 160,200 visitors, marking its highest single-day reception volume.
To enhance tourists’ cultural experience of Wuyuan’s rural tourism and boost visitor satisfaction, the Jiangwan Scenic Area organized a variety of cultural activities such as “Ancient Costume Time Travel” and “Rural Sports Games.” Meanwhile, Wuyuan rolled out a powerful “combo package”: the “Most Beautiful Journey,” jointly launched by three 5A-level scenic spots—Mount Sanqing, Wuyuan, and Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln—which sold extremely well. Within just one day of going on sale, over 600 combined tickets were sold, with individual travelers accounting for 70% of purchases. The three scenic areas, each with its own distinctive charm, offer visitors the chance to explore all three 5A sites for just 330 yuan, delivering real value. In addition, Wuyuan Tourism Co., Ltd. teamed up with Guangzhou’s “Wang Lao Ji” (Wong Lo Kat) to launch a WeChat-based campaign: by scanning a QR code and sharing the “Civilized Travel, I Relay” message with friends, participants could receive a special “gift.”
Wuyuan tourism has always been in the spotlight of media attention. During the first Golden Week after the high-speed rail opened, the tourism scene in Wuyuan flourished, with creative National Day events unfolding one after another. A range of humanized and distinctive tourism services—including tourism volunteer services, little ambassadors of civility, and information desks—garnered widespread praise and attracted visits from numerous major media outlets. CCTV’s CCTV1 News Broadcast at 7:00 PM, CCTV4 International Channel’s “China News” at 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Jiangxi Satellite TV, and Jiangxi News Night Flight were among the many TV media outlets that reported on Wuyuan’s tourism situation during the National Day holiday. Mainstream online media platforms such as Sohu, Xinhua Net, NetEase News, China.com.cn, Phoenix Network, Sina.com, People’s Daily Online, and National Geographic Online also scrambled to cover Wuyuan’s National Day festivities, stunning scenery, and colorful events.
