Themed “The Belt and Road – Unleashing New Economic Drivers in Cultural Tourism,” this year’s forum aimed to leverage the grand vision of the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen the promotion of cultural tourism, actively explore development opportunities, and comprehensively enhance regional and international cooperation.

On the 13th, during the core session of the forum titled “Face to Face: Dialogue between Ministers and Private CEOs – Enhancing Tourism Connectivity for a Borderless World,” Zhang Ling, Director of the Board of Directors of HNA Group and Chairman of HNA Tourism Group, explained how HNA plans to align with the Belt and Road Initiative to boost Silk Road tourism and unleash new economic drivers in cultural tourism, focusing on comprehensive regional connectivity and the challenges facing the tourism industry in terms of both hardware and software.

Zhang Ling stated that HNA has long leveraged its multi-industry advantages to actively develop an open service-oriented industry centered around key nodes of the national Belt and Road Initiative. Based in Hainan, HNA is building an “aerial hub” for the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, proactively planning the development of new air routes to provide transportation services for countries along the Belt and Road, and creating distinctive international premium tourism routes and products with Silk Road characteristics. At the same time, HNA Tourism pays close attention to the unique cultural heritage of various regions, encourages multicultural integration and exchange, guides the healthy development of the industry, and promotes civilized tourism initiatives. HNA Tourism is willing to work with global tourism partners to jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of the tourism industry and foster regional and international cooperation.

In the future, HNA Tourism will strive to become a new-generation builder connecting the two major economic hubs of Asia and Europe amid the new opportunities for tourism development along the Belt and Road. With a focus on tourism infrastructure, product innovation, and cultural exchange, HNA Tourism aims to help make the Belt and Road a path of shared prosperity through win-win cooperation, a route of cultural exchange and peaceful friendship, and a model for the prosperity of global tourism.
