The scenic area is located on Langshan Mountain in Duanxin Township, Wuyuan County. Langshan lies at the northern tip of Wuyuan, at the junction of Anhui, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi provinces. It is the highest peak in Wuyuan, with five rugged mountain paths connecting life on the mountain with that below. It is a newly developed high-mountain gorge tourist attraction in Wuyuan, situated 45 kilometers from the county seat. Major attractions include terraced fields, valleys, massive rocks, rapids, ancient trees, and villages. Currently, the main development focuses on the river section in Wangxi Village for Langshan Gorge whitewater rafting. The Wulongyuan Ecological Tourism Area in Wuyuan County began construction in 2008, with the first phase involving the development of the river section in Wangxi Village, funded by an investment of 5 million yuan. Currently, the visitor center and parking lot are still under construction. It officially opened to the public on June 18, 2009.

Wulongyuan Gorge Rafting features crystal-clear water, offering a refreshing and pleasant experience. The entire course lets you enjoy the naturally green and pristine mountain stream water — an absolutely eco-friendly canyon rafting adventure. The Wangxi section of the stream has significant elevation drops and fast currents, with numerous cascading rapids plunging into pools. Rapids and pools alternate, complementing and connecting with each other. Steep sections are narrow and intense, while gentler stretches allow for a more relaxed ride. The combination of fast and slow flows is well-balanced. The water flows out from behind the mountains, weaving through gaps between these large and small rocks. With substantial elevation changes, the flowing water roars, and numerous small waterfalls cascade down, sending up shimmering droplets that sparkle under the sunlight. The total length of the rafting course is 3.8 kilometers, with a total elevation drop of 110 meters from start to finish. It includes S-shaped curves and is divided into upper, middle, and lower sections. The middle section has a longer waterway and is relatively gentle, while the upper and lower sections feature more intense rapids, with concentrated drops, sharp turns, and dramatic ups and downs. The entire rafting route is designed not only for thrilling excitement but also with safety and comfort in mind for all visitors. The scenic area emphasizes user-friendly design, with spacious, clean, and convenient facilities such as a visitor center, changing rooms, and waiting areas. Visitors can take sightseeing shuttle buses to reach the attraction.
